Highborn Défumé Annointing Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Highborn Défumé Annointing Oil that came in my December Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Highborn Défumé Annointing Oil

This Ritual Rollerball will cleanse and clear your energetic space, focus the mind for meditation or prayer, and prepare yourself for ritual. DÉFUMÉ pays true homage to palo santo while embodying a dynamic fragrance profile. Application is beautiful (externally) anywhere on your body, this fragrance is known to transport. Boasting organic essential oils that are sustainably sourced and extracted, reiki charged crystals and high vibes – DÉFUMÉ will help deepen your self care regimen. Fragrance is unisex.

Highborn Défumé Annointing Oil

The first thing that went through my mind when I saw this was to ask myself if this was a perfume or an essential oil (or both). The scent is very subtle – lightly smoky and woody. I would use this before a meditative yoga practice,  than to use it as a perfume as I don’t find that the scent lasts on me. I find that nearly all coconut oil based perfumes oils don’t have any longevity on me.

Highborn Défumé Annointing Oil

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil, A Proprietary Blend of Wild Crafted + Organic Essential Oils, Reiki Charged Quartz + Black Tourmaline.

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Sea Mineral Foot Soak from Formulary 55 that came in my February Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from Petit Vour website]

Formulary55 1

Perfect for tired feet, this fizzing foot soak is a wonderful way to end a long day. This peppermint and eucalyptus effervescent foot soak is made with pure essential oils and Dead Sea mineral salts.

To use, fill a small wash tub with water, drop in contents of envelope (each packet contains enough for 1-2 treatments), and soak your feet in the detoxifying blend.

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak

It is like a fizzy bath bomb, but for the feet. I love that it has minimal ingredients. This would be perfect for someone who is on their feet all day. Very relaxing and soothing.

The peppermint and eucalyptus give it such a fresh and relaxing scent – I often mix peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils on my diffuser because I love the two combined!

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Ground Dead Sea salts, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, cornstarch, and essential oils.

Olverum Bath Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Olverum Bath Oil that came in my September Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour Sept 2018 - Olverum Bath Oil

A unique and luxurious aromatic blend of essential oils which combine to ease stress and relax tension in both mind and body, bringing you back to your complete and natural self.

Olverum Bath Oil is highly concentrated and only half a capful (5ml) is needed per bath. Accordingly, virtually all the oil is absorbed by the skin leaving no greasy residue in the bath after use.

Petit Vour Sept 2018 - Olverum Bath Oil

The Olverum Bath Oil is super concentrated, you only need the smallest amount in the bath. The scent is really nice – the blend of oils all work together really well for a relaxing bath. And the tub isn’t slippery or greasy afterwards, but my skin is hydrated and soft. I really like this one!

Pricewise it is $52 USD for the full size (125 ml), which seems like a lot at first glance, but because it is so concentrated, you would get at least 25 baths from the bottle! I think that this would make a great gift.

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Siberian fir Needle, Lavandin, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Rosemary, Exotic Verbena, True Lavender, Lime, Juniper, and Geranium essential oils.

Thanks for reading and and have a beautiful day! ❤

Empties February 2018

Hello, hello!

Today I’m sharing my February empties and whether or not I would re-purchase. I managed to finish up a few more products in my stash, and there are a few more *so close* to being empty.

Empties Feb 2018

Skincare Empties:

Andalou Naturals Instant Brighten & Tighten Hydro Serum Facial Mask – Another Petit Vour subscription box item, review is here. I’d love try try more of these sheet masks once I empty my stash.

Makeup Empties:

Empties Feb 2018

Bath & Body Empties:

Empties Feb 2018

Plant Apothecary Get Happy Bodywash – Another Petit Vour item. I’m sad that I finished this shower gel already, it smelled so good! Review is here. I have a few more shower gels to use up before purchasing anything new.

Schmidt’s Charcoal & Magnesium Natural Deodorant – This is one of the best natural deodorants that I’ve used. Review is here. I’ve already repurchased this one.

Aromatherapy Empties:

Empties Feb 2018 5

Saje Natural Wellness Liquid Sunshine, Now Essential Oils Peppermint and Eucalyptus – since getting our new diffusers, we’ve been using them non-stop. The peppermint and eucalyptus were majorly used when the Mr. and I had the dreaded winter plague (thankfully just a crappy cold and not the flu). We are slowly building up a collection of essential oils.

Were you able to finish up many products this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Weekly Recap Feb 19th to 25th

Hello, hello!

Just a little recap of the past week’s blog posts in case you’ve missed out and want to catch up. I went a little off my blogging schedule and only did two posts instead of my usual three.

Monday, Feb 19th – Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalizing Face Oil Review

Thursday, Feb 22nd – Scentuals Rejuvenate Ultrasonic Diffuser Review

My February Petit Vour box should be arriving in the next day or so, I can’t wait to see what is inside! I’ve been really happy with my subscription so far.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Scentuals Rejuvenate Ultrasonic Diffuser Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Rejuvenate Ultrasonic Diffuser from Scentuals that we recently purchased because my Aromagem from Saje had an unfortunate accident. [info in italics taken from Well.ca]

This post was supposed to go up yesterday –  I had forgotten to schedule it  and didn’t realize until this morning – oops!

Scentuals’ beautiful Rejuvenate Ultrasonic Electric Diffuser is a wonderful modern addition to any space. The natural wood finishing and warm LED lights add an inviting touch to any environment while scenting the air delicately with pure essential oils. Brighten your home with scents that move you.

  • Max water level 600ml
  • Mist level options: High, Low
  • Runtime 20 hours on lowest setting
  • Automatic safety shut off when low water levels are detected

Scentuals Rejuvenate Ultrasonic Diffuser

We chose this one because it had a large capacity water reservoir, and variable mist setting. It has been used daily / nightly since we got it.

It makes a little bubbling noise occasionally when the water level gets low, but overall I find it to be a fairly quiet diffuser. It is easy to fill and clean, which is always a plus.

Scentuals Rejuvenate Ultrasonic Diffuser

We just ordered a second one on the weekend, so we don’t have to move this one from the living room to the bedroom all the time – I missed the mail delivery yesterday, so I’ll be picking it up today after work.

Do you use an essential oil diffuser? What is your favourite essential oil (or blend)?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, this was purchased by myself and the Mr.

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil from Aromatherapy Associates that came in a recent Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil

Treat your body to the warming powers of Rosemary, Black Pepper, Lavender and Ginger essential oils to de-stress after an intense workout or spending too much time in one position at work. Your aching muscles will appreciate the TLC.

HOW TO USE:
Massage a capful onto your torso, focusing on any areas of concern. Cup your hands, bring them to your face and inhale deeply 3 times. Step into a warm bath or shower and enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil

I managed to get two uses from my sample vial (3ml / 0.1fl oz). This is such a beautiful bath oil – the scent is so lovely! I can’t particularly smell the black pepper notes, but the blend of rosemary, lavender and ginger works so well together.

I love having a nice hot bath after yoga if I can.  I love having a nice hot bath any time really, haha! My muscles are happy, and I feel so relaxed. As an added plus, the bath oil works great for softening and hydrating the skin. I love it!

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil

Ingredients: 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Melaleuca Leucadendron Cajuputi (Cajuput) Oil, Parfum**, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Juniperus Communis (Juniper) Fruit Oil, Pinus Sylvestris (Pine) Leaf Oil, Citral*, Coumarin*, Geraniol*, Linalool*, Limonene*, Citronellol* |  *Natural Essential Oil Contents; **Natural Plant Extracts

The full sized bottle is on the pricy side however at $73 USD for 55ml. I will not be purchasing it any time soon as it is currently out of my price-range. I have a bunch of bath and body stuff in my stash to use up.

Do you have a favourite bath oil?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Empties October 2017

Hello, hello!

Today I have my stash of empties for October – I think I made good progress in using things up this month!

October 2017 Empties

Maui Moisture Revive + Hydrate Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner – This worked really well for my thick, wavy, frizz-prone hair. I just purchased the Strength + Anti-Breakage Agave Shampoo and Conditioner to try out instead of repurchasing this one. Review is here.

October 2017 Empties

Ahimsa Naturals Solid Brush Cleanser in Rosemary & Lavender – This was a great brush cleanser, it took me almost 2.5 years to use up. If I can find this locally, I’ll repurchase. Review is here.

Saje Natural Wellness Stress Relief Diffuser Blend – Once I use up a few more of the essential oils in my stash, this will be one of the ones that I will be repurchasing as the lavender based scent is so lovely and relaxing. Review is here.

Oct 2017 Empties

Badger Balm Ginger & Lemon Lip Balm – This was a good lip balm, I might repurchase once my stash is used up. This one was never reviewed.

Saje Natural Wellness Lip Balms in Sweet Lips and Tingle Lips – I loved both of these lip balms, and plan to repurchase the next time that I order some Diffuser Blends from Saje. Review is here.

The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer – I liked this primer a lot, but it started to thicken and congeal (GROSS) so I didn’t bother finishing the last bit in the bottle. I don’t think that I will repurchase this one as there are other primers that I’d like to try. Review is here.

Oct 2017 Empties

Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense Lift Serum* – I am sad that this one is finished, this might be the most beautiful serum that I’ve ever used. Sadly it is pricy, and I don’t have the budget to repurchase this right now. But it is going to the top of my wishlist! Review is here.

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% Emulsion – This is one of the best and most affordable retinol serums that I’ve ever used. I’ve already repurchased a back up of this one. Review is here.

The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA – I’ve tried this one and the Buffet, both are peptide serums and both work well. But I don’t need both of them. I’ve already repurchased the Buffet serum. Review is here.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% – This made my skin look great, but my skin never adjusted and it always stung when I used it. Instead of repurchasing this one, I am currently testing out the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% (also from The Ordinary). Review of the Vitamin C Suspension is here, review of the serum is coming later this month.

E Nature Birch Juice Hydro Sleeping Pack – This sample came in my September Ipsy GlamBag. I’ve been occasionally using it a night when I felt like my skin needed a moisture boost. I have so many night creams / sleeping packs on my wish list, that I’m not going to be purchasing a full size of this one at this time. I never actually reviewed this one, but I really liked it.

So there you have it, all the things I’ve managed to use up this month! Have you finished up very many things this month?

Disclosure: All items except for the one marked with * were purchased by me. The product marked with * was a PR sample. Please see original review for details.

April 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

I’m still working my way through my stash, and am gradually using things up. There were a few products that were so close to finishing but not fully finished. I guess they will be in next month’s empties. Here’s what I finished up this month:

April 2017 Empties

On the empties:

April 2017 Empties

Saje Essential Oil Blend in Peppermint Twist – I love this essential oil blend, and need to re-purchase this as soon as I use up a few more. Original review is here.

April 2017 Empties

Nova Scotia Fisherman Hand & Body Cream – This stuff saved my hands all winter, I’ll be re-purchasing this one in my next well.ca order. Original review is here.

April 2017 Empties

Smith’s Mocha Rose Lip Balm, and Haus of Gloi Lip Balm in Wild Rose and Cherry Vanilla – I’m a lip balm addict, it is true, but I’m trying to use up the ones in my stash before I buy any more. The Haus of Gloi Cherry Vanilla one disappeared, so it didn’t get photographed – I suspect that I will find it on the weekend when I am vacuuming, haha!

April 2017 Empties

Essence I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara (Waterproof) – This is normally my holy grail mascara, but the last one that I bought was really thick and clumpy, so I only used it for two weeks before pitching it. Maybe it was an old one. I’ve since re-purchased the Big Show Waterproof one from Annabelle in the meantime. Original review of Essence here, Annabelle here.

April 2017 Empties

Mychelle Dermaceuticals Perfect C Pro Serum 25%* – This is my favourite C serum that I’ve tried this far. It doesn’t sting my sensitive skin, which is surprising considering a lot of them do. I haven’t re-purchased this yet, but it is on my wishlist, as I’m still working my way through my skincare stash. Original review is here.

Ingenium Naturals Sensi-Cream* – Such a great facial moisturizer, it is lightweight and gentle, perfect for sensitive skin. Again, this one is on my wishlist, but until I clear out more of my stash, I can’t re-purchase. Original review is here.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
