FLOWER Beauty Bitten Lip Stain Swatching – Tempt

FLOWER Beauty Bitten Lip Stain Tempt

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m swatching the Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain in the shade Tempt. After trying and reviewing the shade Coy, I went ahead and purchased another one from well.ca [info in italics taken from the Flower Beauty website]

FLOWER Beauty Bitten Lip Stain Tempt

The new Bitten Lip Stain gives you stay-all-day color with an innovative hydrating formula.

Our unique water-based, hydration-packed, and gluten-free formula has gentle staining pigments that apply like a gloss and stays put like a stain with non-feathering wear. The lightweight gel-like texture moisturizes lips upon application and then dries down to a long-lasting comfortable tint. Apply with the plush doe foot applicator to luxuriously cushion and coat lips.

FLOWER Beauty Bitten Lip Stain Tempt

These lip stains come in six different shades: Saucy (hot pink), Play (magenta purple), Coy (coral pink), Sass (violet pink), Sweet (pink) and Tempt (dark magenta). This time I purchased Tempt, and I absolutely love it. This one doesn’t feel as watery as Coy did, but it has the same long wearing finish and manages to still feel hydrating when it dries down. And it doesn’t smudge underneath a mask!

And yeah, I’ll probably order another shade the next time I’m ordering something from well.ca.

Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain (Coy) Review

Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain - Coy

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m reviewing the Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain that I recently purchased from well.ca [info in italics taken from the Flower Beauty website]

Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain - Coy

The new Bitten Lip Stain gives you stay-all-day color with an innovative hydrating formula.

Our unique water-based, hydration-packed, and gluten-free formula has gentle staining pigments that apply like a gloss and stays put like a stain with non-feathering wear. The lightweight gel-like texture moisturizes lips upon application and then dries down to a long-lasting comfortable tint. Apply with the plush doe foot applicator to luxuriously cushion and coat lips.

Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain - Coy

These lip stains come in six different shades: Saucy (hot pink), Play (magenta purple), Coy (coral pink), Sass (violet pink), Sweet (pink) and Tempt (dark magenta). I chose the shade Coy as I wanted a peachy / coral shade for summer. The swatch shows two coats (top) and one coat (bottom).

Flower Beauty Bitten Lip Stain - Coy

The formula feels watery when first applied but when it dries down, it manages to still feel hydrating. It is fairly long wearing too – and once it dries down, it stays put under a mask without smearing! I plan to pick up a few more shades to try out, most likely Play and / or Tempt.

Have you tried this lip stain?

Huge Make-Up Declutter 2020

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

I’ve been gradually sorting through my make-up collection and have started the process of decluttering products that are either mega old, or products that I just don’t reach for. I’ll link to any reviews in case you want to check them out.

Blushes and bronzers:

Tarte, Juice Beauty, Sothys*, and Too Faced. All of these, with the exception of the Juice Beauty are more than four years old. The Juice Beauty cream blush is more recent, but sadly, it has started to dry out.

Lipsticks:

ColourPop, Maison Jacynthe*, Essence, Axiology, KVD* and NudeStix – most of these are several years old, and have started to go off.

The ColourPop, Hikari and Too Faced are old and I cannot remember the last time that I used them. The Juice Beauty Foundation has started to go off, the scent has changed – it smells like paint.

Highlighters:

These are all quite old – ColourPop, Essence, Wet N Wild, and Brazen – and I never reach for them anymore.

Have you done a makeup declutter?

Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A BRASH ATTITUDE!

Today I have a review of the Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara in the shade Extreme Black. I purchased it recently and have been testing it out. [info in italics taken from the Covergirl website & from the packaging]

Covergirl Lash Blast Active

Lash Blast Active Mascara gives an instant boost of volume that can’t be stopped—offering up to 24 hour wear that won’t let you down! The formula is sweat-proof, smudge-proof and clump-proof ready to take you through your day. The brush provides easy application, control and separation due to the alternating bristle lengths and the brush shape that hugs the lash line. Suitable for contact lens wearers and ophthalmologically tested.

Based on the description, this mascara sounds perfect for me. If you’ve been reading abrashattitude.com for awhile, you will know that I am admittedly mega picky about mascara. I have long, super stick-straight lashes that are quite light in colour considering my natural hair colour is dark brown. Normally I always use a lash curler before applying mascara but I’ve recently had my very first lash lift and tint, so my curler is stashed away, and no waterproof formulas for me. My eyes are sensitive, and water easily so any mascara that I use must be smudge proof, and water-resistant.

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did the Covergirl Lab Blast Active Mascara measure up?

1. waterproof / water resistant  – Not waterproof, but it withstood my watery eyes, so quite water-resistant +1

2. smudge-proof +1

3. non-flaking / non-clumping +1

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) +1 Super mega black, MEGA!

5. volumizing +1/2 to 3/4 depending on whether I do one or two coats.

6. must hold a curl +1 I’ve had a lash lift done, but the mascara did not make my lashes droop. I may change this score once my lash lift wears off and I test it with my lashes in their normal state.

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes +1

Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara

The brush is one of those narrow flexible needle type brushes (what is this mascara brush type called), which I’m not usually a fan of, but this one is great for getting all my lashes, even the teeny ones! Overall I would give this mascara a 6.5 to 6.75 out of 7 – veering towards holy grail status!

Have you tried this mascara, did you like it?

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation Review (Rosy Beige)

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation that I purchased recently after doing a de-clutter of a lot of old foundations from my stash. I mainly only wear foundation in the colder months, and a tinted BB cream with SPF in the warmer months. Since I’d tried and loved Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular CC Cream, I decided to try their serum foundation. [info in italics taken from the Juice Beauty website]

Juice Beauty Serum Foundation

Skin perfecting foundation and age-defying serum in one with concentrated plant-derived Phyto-Pigments. This buildable to full-coverage formula blends seamlessly for a flawless finish while delivering a noticeably smoother, more youthful looking appearance. Formulated without silicones, its hydrating coconut alkanes and antioxidant-rich technology provides comfort, as well as leaving skin looking radiant.

Juice Beauty Serum Foundation in Rosy Beige

I ordered this foundation online, and took a chance on the shade Rosy Beige for light skin with pink undertones. When I first opened the package I thought that it was going to be way too dark for me, but thankfully the shade match is perfect once blended in!

Juice Beauty Serum Foundation in Rosy Beige

Because this is a watery serum formula, I find that I get the smoothest and most even application by using my fingers, and then buffing / blending with either a sponge or foundation brush.

The coverage is buildable, but I prefer to keep it on the light to medium side. The finish is very smooth and radiant – great for when you want glowing skin!

Sothys Bleu Envoûtant Fall Winter 2019 Makeup Collection

A new, magnetic and daring collection for a luminous and sophisticated make-up look. This season, Sothys is revealing its secret and showcasing captivating and radiantly beautiful make-up! Seductive and mysterious woman chic!

There are six products in the Bleu Envoûtant Collection – Stylo Illuminator, Illuminating Powder, Ombre Sothys Eye Quartet Palette, Intense Look Eye Pencil, Lip Duo Palette, and  Vernis Sothys Nail Lacquer. I received three items from the new collection: Stylo Illuminator, Illuminating Powder, Ombre Sothys Eye Quartet Palette.

Sothys Bleu Envoûtant Fall Winter 2019 Makeup Collection

Let’s take a closer look at them:

Stylo Illuminator

Sothys Bleu Envoûtant Fall Winter 2019 Makeup Collection - Stylo Illumuminator

Fluid texture; radiant finish and natural coverage. A clever little product which is dabbed on to help revive complexion radiance. Enriched with light-reflecting mineral agents, this formula has an instant illuminating effect on the complexion. Complex of skincare ingredients (hyaluronic acid + silk tree bark extract + tetrapeptides) renowned for their anti-ageing and moisturizing actions.

It took several clicks of this illuminating pen to get the product to flow onto the brush tip. But once it worked, it was super easy to use and blend into the skin for a beautiful and subtle radiant finish. (The swatch above was not blended out)

Illuminating Powder for Eyelids, Face and Décolleté in 10 Beige Éclatant

Sothys Bleu Envoûtant Fall Winter 2019 Makeup Collection - Illuminating Powder 10 Beige Éclatant

Sothys Bleu Envoûtant Fall Winter 2019 Makeup Collection - Illuminating Powder 10 Beige Éclatant

Multi-purpose powder. Soft texture which allows you to adapt the coverage with no caking effect. Formula enriched with light reflecting pearls for a luminous and radiant complexion and décolletage. Universal shade which adapts to all skin tones.

This is such a beautiful illuminating / highlighting powder – it gives the skin such a beautiful and luminous glow without being glittery. The powder is so finely milled and silky on the skin.

Sothys Bleu Envoûtant Fall Winter 2019 Makeup Collection - Ombre Sothys Eye Quartet Palette 50 Harmonie de Tons Smoky

Dress up your eyes with four new shades of Ombre Sothys, to easily create the simplest of sophisticated make-up. Four new complimentary shades: to be used separately or in harmony, wet or dry. Long-lasting and comfortable textures; iridescent and matte finish; buildable coverage.

These shadows swatches above were done on primer. The blue shade is so difficult to capture, but it is quite striking when the light hits it! Out of the four shades, one has a matte finish (top left shadow – mauve-taupe), and the other three have an iridescent finish (top right – gold, bottom left – deep blue, and bottom right – smoky grey). The can be applied dry for a more subtle effect, or wet to really bring out the drama! Very finely milled, buildable and blendable shades.

K.Voss Bronzing Potion Glow Cream

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Bronzing Potion Glow Cream from K.Voss that came in my March Petit Vour box. I’ve seen this product on Instagram, and it looked super pretty. [info in italics taken from Petit Vour]

K.Voss Bronzing Potion Glow Cream

The Brnzing Potion can be used all over the face, or just to highlight areas of the face. I’ve been wearing this mixed into my Juice Beauty CC Cream  – it gives my skin a nice radiant glow, without being glittery or shimmery. Very natural looking, and non-greasy.

The swatches below from left to right: K.Voss Bronzing Potion Glow Cream, mix of K.Voss Bronzing Potion with Juice Beauty CC Cream, slightly rubbed in mix of K.Voss Bronzing Potion with Juice Beauty CC Cream. The new Spring-Summer makeup collection inspired by chic, ethnic style, is an invitation to travel, to unwind and to relax.  […] Fresh and vibrant tones Fushia and poppy embellished with luminous nude colours for a chic and cool summer collection.

I received five products from this collection. Let’s take a look:

The Eyeshadow Palette Harmonie de tons “Nude” contains four taupe / mauve toned nude shades with an iridescent finish.

This palette is beautiful, it has a matte black magnetic case. The shadows all have a pearly finish, and the colours all work together.

The shadows are soft and buttery, quite pigmented for nude tones. I can see this palette working for a wide range of skin tones. Very wearable colours.

The matte Contour Lip Pencil in Teint Universelle (Universal Shade) is a lip pencil that  can work with all lipstick shades. It can be used on its own as well.
